Semarang – The Master of Management Program, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro once again demonstrated its commitment to enhancing students’ academic quality through the organization of a Thesis Writing Training themed “Managing Submission” on Monday, May 25, 2026. The event was held from 10.00 AM to 12.00 PM WIB at the MM Hall, 4th Floor, Prof. Soewito Room, and was attended by Master of Management students who are currently working on their theses and preparing scientific publications.
The training featured academic and scientific publication practitioner Lala Irviana as the keynote speaker. During the session, she shared insights, strategies, and practical tips on effectively and professionally managing the submission process of academic papers. The theme “Managing Submission” was selected because the submission stage often becomes one of the most challenging parts for students, especially in dealing with academic writing standards, publication procedures, and reviewer revisions.
In her presentation, Lala Irviana explained that successful submission is not determined solely by the quality of the research, but also by the author’s ability to understand publication systems and procedures. Participants were introduced to important aspects such as selecting appropriate journals, understanding manuscript templates, preparing supporting documents, and maintaining professional academic communication with editors and reviewers.
“Many academic papers actually have strong research quality, but fail during the submission process because the authors do not fully understand the technical procedures and publication requirements. Therefore, students need to prepare themselves not only in conducting research but also in managing the submission process comprehensively,” stated Lala Irviana during the training session.
In addition to discussing the stages of submission, participants also gained insights into common mistakes frequently encountered during the submission process, including formatting inconsistencies, incomplete administrative documents, and inappropriate responses to reviewer feedback. The materials were delivered in an interactive and practical manner, allowing participants to better understand the submission process systematically and effectively.
The participants showed strong enthusiasm throughout the event. Many students actively engaged in the discussion session by consulting about their experiences in handling revisions, selecting suitable journals, and improving the acceptance opportunities of their academic papers. The training atmosphere was highly interactive and communicative, reflecting the participants’ strong interest in academic publication and research development.
This activity represents one of the efforts of the Master of Management Program FEB UNDIP to strengthen a productive and high-quality academic culture. In today’s increasingly competitive higher education environment, the ability to write and publish scientific papers has become an essential skill, not only for completing academic studies but also for contributing to national and international academic development.
Through this training, students are expected to gain a deeper understanding of the submission process, increase their confidence in submitting academic works, and produce high-quality scientific publications. The Master of Management Program FEB UNDIP continues to organize various academic activities relevant to students’ needs in order to support the improvement of research competencies and scientific publication skills.
By conducting this training program, MM FEB UNDIP hopes that students will become more prepared to face academic challenges, particularly in thesis preparation and scientific publication, while also strengthening a research culture that is competitive, innovative, and impactful.
